Catching Up!

With the end of the rain, we have been left with lots of catch up work. It seems that we got somewhere between eight and ten inches of rain over a very short period. When it comes like that you are so saturated that it takes a bit to wade through and access what needs done.
Our son is being an angel and cleaning out all the goat pens. They have quite some buildup. We have a combination of hay, straw, manure and mud. The goats are so happy to have it all removed and be able to walk on ground that is not spongy. All of this wonderful stuff that we are removing will be reused as compost or fertilizer.
The chickens are no longer floating in their pen, and we have managed to get the chicken coop cleaned and dry again. It seems that all of the weather situations have slowed down the laying process. Can you say “Tyson”? Girls, we really need to step it up and get some production!
Horses are at least in an elevated field, so they can get in the dry easily.
All in all we have survived, and are totally enjoying the days of sun.
